Climate Changes Poster Child
Polar bears are climate change's poster child, with it being widely known for its decreasing in population and size due to the loss of ice. Polar Bears depend on the ice for transportation, hunting, and hybridization. They use the ice for transportation across the arctic to get to their dens. They also use the ice as a hunting tactic to find seals in holes in the ice. The ice and snow is used in their dens for hybridization and for their offspring.
Polar bears have dropped 40% in the Southern Beaufort Sea. Polar Bears might be the first victim of extinction from climate change. Polar Bears are considered to be threatened because they have a high risk of extinction in the near future. This all started with us but it can end with us too. The soda brand, Coca Cola, has been helping the polar bear rescue with two million dollars raised to give to the World Wildlife Fund. (WWF)

Another organism that is highly affected by global warming is Coral Reefs. They are effected by coral bleaching, which is when the algae they live off of die, and eventually the coral dies with it, tuning the coral pale white. The algae are dying because the pH of the water has decreased due to too much carbon dioxide in the water. Not only does the coral live off of the algae but other organisms use the algae and food and the coral for a habitat and hunting tactics. A lot of reefs are experiencing this but the most common is the Great Barrier Reef.
Leonardo DiCaprio is a support on saving the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. He donated three million dollars in 2013 to help protect the habitats of marine species. May others like Mark Ruffalo helped the Great Barrier Reef for it gives life to many marine organisms in Australia.
